November 3, 2009 Board Meeting Agenda Item #14 Title EXCEPTIONAL STUDENT EDUCATION SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND PROCEDURES Description The district's Exceptional Student Education Special Policies and Procedures (SP&P) document was approved by the governing body for submission to the Florida Department of Education.  The school district shall implement the requirements of any statutes or State Board of Education rules affecting programs for exceptional students during the effective dates of 2009-10 through 2011-12.  The school district shall implement the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education ACT (IDEA) and its implementing requirements at Section 300 of Title 34 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Recommendation That the Special Programs and Procedures, effective for the 2009-2010 through 2011-2012, be approved as presented.
